Xiaomi 17T Pro has become the latest Android device to support file sharing with iPhones through Google's Quick Share system.
The feature, demonstrated by Xiaomi, allows users to transfer files to an iPhone by generating a QR code that the iPhone scans.

The process is not identical to native AirDrop. Instead, Android creates a QR code that triggers a cloud-assisted transfer.
While it adds an extra step, it is far more convenient than emailing files or using third-party apps.

This update addresses a common frustration when Android and iPhone users share photos or documents in group settings.
Google has been working to simplify cross-platform file sharing, and Xiaomi is among the latest brands to adopt the expanded functionality.

Currently, the list of compatible Android phones includes:
- Samsung Galaxy S26 series
- Google Pixel 10 series
- Google Pixel 9 series
- Google Pixel 8a series
- OPPO Find X9 series
- OPPO Find N6
- vivo X300 Ultra
- Xiaomi 17T Pro
Google has also confirmed a second wave of support for additional models, including the Samsung Galaxy S25 and S24 series, various Galaxy Z Fold and Flip models, OPPO Find X8 series, OnePlus 15, and Honor Magic 8 Pro and Magic V6.

While this feature alone may not drive smartphone sales, it significantly improves the user experience for those who frequently share files across platforms.
