A new leak hints that Xiaomi's upcoming foldable will carry a record-high price tag.
According to tipster DCS, the Xiaomi 18 Fold could start at over 10,000 yuan.
The base model is expected to be priced around 12,000 yuan (~$1,785).
If accurate, this would make it the first Xiaomi phone to cross the 10,000 yuan threshold across all variants.
For comparison, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 launched in 2024 with a starting price of 8,999 yuan.
The ongoing memory shortage is likely contributing to the higher cost.
Launch and key specs
The Xiaomi 18 Fold is scheduled for an official launch on September 7 in China.
It is expected to be the first device powered by Xiaomi's in-house Xring O3 chipset.
The camera setup includes a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens, tuned by Leica.
Battery capacity is confirmed at 6,000mAh, supporting 67W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Design-wise, the foldable features a 5.38-inch outer display and a 7.58-inch inner screen.
It introduces a new color called 'West Wild Red' and sports a horizontal rear camera module.
Higher configurations, including a 16GB + 1TB version, are expected to use Changxin LPDDR6 memory.
If the leaked pricing holds, Xiaomi is clearly positioning this foldable in the ultra-premium segment.
