Xiaomi has introduced the Mijia Flip-Top Thermos Cup 2, a new 500mL travel mug now available via crowdfunding on its Youpin platform.
The campaign runs from September 2 to September 9, with an early-bird price of 79 yuan ($12).
After the campaign, the standard retail price will be 109 yuan ($16).
This thermos focuses on practical design and material quality rather than smart features.
Design and Materials
The lid features a mechanical auto-locking mechanism for one-handed operation. Users slide a small lock switch to the left and press the release button to open it.
When closed, the lock automatically slides back, preventing accidental spills in bags.
Inside the lid, the drinking spout and internal filter are made of PPSU, a polymer commonly used in baby bottles due to its high-temperature resistance and odor resistance.
The spout is detachable for thorough cleaning.
The main body uses a 316L stainless steel liner with a thin-wall construction to reduce weight.
A mirror electrolytic treatment gives the interior a smooth finish, making it easy to rinse clean.
Insulation is achieved through a tailless vacuum process and a copper-plated inner layer.
Xiaomi claims it keeps hot liquids above 68°C and cold drinks below 10°C for six hours.
The vacuum layer also keeps the exterior at a normal temperature when filled with hot water.
Additional features include a silicone bottom pad to reduce noise, a dual-thread lid design, and a pull tab on the sealing ring for easy removal and washing.
The thermos comes in matte white, navy blue, mist purple, and pearlescent glacier blue.
