The Xiaomi 18 Fold is set to launch on September 7, featuring the new in-house Xring O3 chipset and arriving alongside the Pad 9 Pro Max.

Ahead of the launch, Xiaomi has shared several high-resolution camera samples from the foldable, showcasing its imaging capabilities.

The camera system includes a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens.

As expected, the imaging system is co-engineered with Leica.

Sample Analysis

The first sample highlights the phone's white balance handling, preserving warm tones and avoiding noise in darker corners.

Detail is sharp, with individual bricks visible, and the bright outdoor light is not overexposed, indicating good dynamic range.

Instead of aggressively brightening shadows, Xiaomi's processing seems to prioritize mood and aesthetic appeal.

The watermark reveals the photo was taken at 23mm, f/1.7, 1/50s, and ISO 80, suggesting a low-light scenario.

Another sample, taken at 46mm (2x crop), shows plenty of detail with no major noise or artifacts.

A 100mm portrait also impresses with accurate skin tones and a clean overall look.

These samples are likely handpicked by the brand, so real-world performance may vary.

We look forward to testing the Xiaomi 18 Fold's camera ourselves once we get the device.
