Xiaomi has confirmed that its upcoming 18 Fold foldable smartphone will include a 6000mAh battery, a notable capacity for a book-style device.

The battery, called Xiaomi Jinshajiang, uses an innovative stacking process to fit the large capacity into a slim and lightweight design.

It features 20% silicon content and achieves an energy density of up to 920Wh/L.

Charging support includes 67W wired and 50W wireless, offering both fast and cable-free options.

Additional confirmed specs

The 18 Fold will launch on September 7 alongside the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max.

It will be powered by Xiaomi's in-house Xring O3 chipset and will be the first smartphone to use LPDDR6 memory from ChangXin Memory Technologies.

The camera system includes a 200MP main camera, a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera, all with Leica Summilux lenses.

Large batteries are challenging in foldables due to thickness and weight constraints, but Xiaomi's high-silicon stacked design aims to address this.
