A sudden rockslide at the Shangri-La Tiger Leaping Gorge scenic area in China's Yunnan Province sent tourists scrambling for safety earlier this week.
Video footage shows massive rocks tumbling down the mountain while visitors sprint away from the debris.
The rocks slid into the rushing river below, and reports indicate no one was injured.
Another clip captured the sliding earth rushing down the mountainside and through a small building, which collapsed into the water.
Incident Details
According to the Shangri-La Tiger Leaping Gorge Tourism Management Company, the rockfall occurred on the northern side of the mountain around 10:30 AM on Tuesday.
Rocks fell nearly 2,000 feet from the cliffside into an area without tourists.
The company said its emergency plan was activated, and staff conducted required safety checks after the rockslide.
The gorge remained open despite the incident.
Such rockslides occur semi-regularly, with previous slides in July and August.
