Kurt Busch has spoken publicly about the sudden death of his younger brother, Kyle Busch, expressing shock that no one realized how ill he was.
In an interview on Anderson Cooper's podcast "All There Is," Kurt said Kyle had a slight cough but otherwise appeared completely fine.
Days before his death, Kyle won the 2026 Ecosave 200 Craftsman Truck Series race at Dover Motor Speedway.
He also visited an indoor go-kart track with his son just two days before he passed.
Kurt said these are not the actions of someone close to death, and he remains visibly stunned.
Final Days and Medical Emergency
Kurt detailed Kyle's last days, explaining that his crew chief found him slumped against a bathroom wall during a training session.
Kyle asked his crew chief to call an ambulance at that time.
TMZ Sports previously published 911 audio revealing Kyle was struggling to breathe, overheating, and coughing up blood.
Kurt said everyone initially thought Kyle would pull through after being hospitalized.
However, they soon received a devastating call to come and see him because he didn't have much time left.
Kurt also shared that their father, Tom Busch, chose not to enter Kyle's hospital room.
Kyle Busch was 41 years old at the time of his death.
