Kansas City police believe they have located the body of the gunman suspected in a series of highway shootings that left one person dead earlier this month.
Jake Becchina, Public Information Officer for the Kansas City Police Department, told media Wednesday that authorities assume the remains found belong to 22-year-old Oscar Sanchez-Munoz.

Police had initially searched the home after an hours-long standoff, but a fire and subsequent flooding made a thorough search difficult.
The family later contacted authorities after sifting through rubble and detecting a decomposing odor, leading to the discovery.
Sanchez-Munoz had an outstanding warrant for allegedly shooting at a motor vehicle on June 11 in Wyandotte County, Kansas.
