A bystander with a gun opened fire on the suspect in the Idaho In-N-Out mass shooting, and the dramatic moment was captured on video.
Jordan Salinas was at the In-N-Out in Twin Falls with his girlfriend when the attack began Saturday afternoon.
Police say 24-year-old Chad Williams fired at diners with a large rifle, killing three and wounding seven.
Salinas, an off-duty officer, and responding officers all shot at Williams, forcing him to flee.
Salinas told the Idaho Statesman that Williams "seemed shocked" by the return fire.
Williams was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Twin Falls County Sheriff Jack Johnson called Salinas and the off-duty officer "true heroes," saying their actions "diverted the shooter and without a doubt saved many lives."
