A popular Mexican influencer was shot and killed while livestreaming on Tuesday. The gunman arrived on a motorcycle and fired at point-blank range.
The incident occurred in Culiacan, a city in the state of Sinaloa. The victim has been identified as Cesar Gastelum.
Video posted to Instagram shows Gastelum with friends on the street.
Two men on a motorcycle approach, and one pulls out a gun and shoots Gastelum in the head.
The attackers then flee on the motorcycle.
Mexican authorities confirmed the death and have opened an investigation, according to CNN.
The killing comes amid ongoing clashes between rival organized crime groups vying for control in Culiacan, the capital of Sinaloa.
Gastelum's death is reminiscent of the murder of beauty influencer Valeria Marquez in May 2025, who was also shot while livestreaming.
