The man arrested near Trump National Golf Club in California now faces federal charges.
Jeanine John Taele, 38, was charged with possession of an unregistered short-barreled rifle, a felony carrying a maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison.
Federal prosecutors released a photograph of Taele, showing him staring stone-faced into the camera.
They also released images of his rifle and a badge that read "Agent" and "Fugitive Recovery Bail Enforcement."
According to the federal complaint, Taele was arrested Sunday after he was seen taking photos and shooting video of safety protocols being set up ahead of President Trump's visit to the golf club on Tuesday.
During a search, Los Angeles Sheriff's Department deputies found ammunition in Taele's pocket and a loaded pistol with a magazine in his vehicle.
A subsequent sweep of his home turned up high-powered firearms, ammunition, body armor, and a notebook.
Taele has also been charged in L. A.
Superior Court with gun-related crimes and a 2025 robbery.
He will be transferred to federal custody for his first appearance in the United States District Court in Los Angeles.
