Xgimi has introduced a new version of its Z9X projector in China, called the Z9X 4K High Brightness Edition.
It is priced at 3,298 yuan (about $488).

This model builds on the standard Z9X released last year, with the main upgrade being a brighter light source.
Brightness and optical improvements
The projector uses a new triple-color RGB laser from Nichia, specifically the QuaLas 42.
This brings brightness up to 1,600 CVIA lumens, an 8% increase over the older laser module.
It offers a native contrast ratio of 1,600:1 and a dynamic ratio of 30,000:1.
The device supports HDR Vivid and covers color spaces like DCI-P3 and 110% of BT. 2020.

To address common issues with triple-laser projectors, the Z9X has an SGS certification indicating that speckle and color fringing have been minimized.
On the optical side, it includes a 0.98 to 1.3:1 optical zoom lens. This allows projecting a 100-inch image from 2.17 meters away.
Since the zoom is optical, users can adjust screen size without cropping the image or losing native 4K resolution.
Design and gaming features
The unit is compact, weighing 1.5kg and measuring 7.8cm thick. It sits on an integrated gimbal stand that provides 150 degrees of vertical adjustment for positioning.

For gaming, the projector supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM).
It operates in a dual mode, allowing either 4K at 60Hz or 1080p at 120Hz, with Xgimi claiming input lag as low as 1ms.
The software integrates with the Mi Home ecosystem and Xiao Ai voice control.
It also includes automated setup tools like auto-focus, real-time keystone alignment, obstacle avoidance, and wall color adaptation.
For sound, it has built-in speakers that support Dolby Audio.

On the back, there are two HDMI ports (one with eARC) and two standard USB 2.0 ports.
