Insta360 has officially launched the Luna Ultra, its first flagship gimbal camera developed in collaboration with Leica.
The device had been anticipated through leaks and pre-orders at overseas retailers.

Dual Leica-engineered sensors
The Luna Ultra features a dual-sensor system.
The primary camera uses a 50MP Sony LYT-900 1-inch sensor with an F1.8 aperture and 14 stops of dynamic range.
A secondary 50MP OV50Q telephoto unit sits on a 1/1.3-inch sensor with an F2.0 aperture.
It supports up to 12x zoom, including 6x lossless zoom.
Together, the lenses cover five focal lengths ranging from wide to 240mm equivalent. Both carry Leica Summicron branding, bringing Leica's color science, filters, and an exclusive watermark option.
8K video and professional features
The camera records 8K video with Dolby Vision, 4K at 120fps for slow motion, and 1080p at 240fps.

A 4K 60fps PureVideo Mode reduces noise and enhances detail in low light.
It supports 10-bit I-Log+ ACES workflow and is compatible with DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro.
Built-in timecode enables multi-camera sync.
The three-axis gimbal stabilizes telephoto shots. A detachable 2-inch OLED touchscreen allows framing and playback.
For solo creators, Deep Track 5.0 handles subject tracking, while in-camera face recognition offers adjustable tone and skin smoothing.
A built-in Mini Fill Light aids low-light shooting.

Photography features include 200MP panoramic stills and 37MP UltraPhoto shots with AI enhancement. Low Frame Photos and Low Frame Collage modes enable creative captures.
Battery and storage
The Luna Ultra packs a 1,550mAh battery rated for up to four hours of use. Fast charging takes about 23 minutes.
It includes 47GB of internal storage.
Pricing and availability
The Insta360 Luna Ultra is priced at $769 globally.
Regional pricing includes ¥4,358 in China, 119,800 yen in Japan, and 5,599 HKD in Hong Kong.
Insta360's CEO had previously indicated that Chinese pricing would be lower than overseas figures, and the official ¥4,358 confirms that.

The Luna Ultra first appeared in teaser form in April, followed by detailed promo renders in May and pre-orders at European retailers.
