A Florida couple's stay at a Miami hotel turned into a frightening ordeal when they discovered a stranger hiding under their bed, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by TMZ.
Police identified the suspect as Ritchel Calvaire, who was arrested and booked for burglary and resisting an officer without violence.
How the Incident Unfolded
The couple checked into their room at the Provident Doral in Miami last Wednesday and closed the blinds to the sliding glass door before going to bed.
Around 4 AM Thursday, the woman felt movement near the bed but went back to sleep, police say.
Two and a half hours later, she felt something move again, this time from underneath the bed, yet she did not check it out.
An hour and 15 minutes later, she peered under the bed to see if any belongings had been kicked underneath.
That is when she came face to face with the alleged intruder, Calvaire, who was hiding under the bed.
The couple dashed out of the room and contacted police, who promptly arrested Calvaire.
Police say Calvaire hopped a fence at the hotel and slipped inside the couple's room through the sliding door before concealing himself under the bed as the man and woman slept.
Calvaire was a previous guest at the hotel but checked out on August 31 and was told by staff not to return, according to police.
He allegedly returned two days later but was ushered off the property.
