Samsung has published its September 2026 security update bulletin, and two Galaxy watches are missing: the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.

Their absence signals the end of software support for both smartwatches.

Samsung had promised the Galaxy Watch 4 series four generations of Wear OS upgrades, and it delivered on that commitment.

Those upgrades were Wear OS 3.5 with One UI Watch 4.5, Wear OS 4 with One UI 5 Watch, Wear OS 5 with One UI 6 Watch, and finally Wear OS 6 with One UI 8 Watch.

Now, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic have also stopped receiving security updates.

The August 2026 security patch, which rolled out last month, was the final one for both models.

Even though Samsung will not push any updates to the Watch 4 lineup, the devices will continue to work just fine.

They simply will not receive the latest features and patches for recently discovered vulnerabilities.

If you are still using a Galaxy Watch 4 or Watch 4 Classic, now may be a good time to consider upgrading to a newer model.

The latest Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 come with a revised update policy, promising One UI Watch and security updates for 5 years.
