Insta360 has introduced the Luna Pro, a new gimbal camera that follows the earlier Luna Ultra.
The Pro model swaps the Ultra's dual-lens setup for a single 1-inch sensor, and the company claims it is the industry's first 4K vertical shooting gimbal camera.

The vertical shooting capability is a key differentiator.
Insta360 says the Luna Pro can capture 8K footage while retaining 4K resolution when the camera is turned vertically.
This is notable because many gimbal cameras lose resolution in vertical mode; for comparison, DJI's Osmo Pocket 4 maxes out at 3K in vertical orientation.
Specifications and Features
The Luna Pro uses a Sony 1-inch sensor to record 4K video at 30fps in a 9:16 frame.
It includes AI tracking and three-axis stabilization to keep subjects framed during vertical shooting.
The camera is equipped with a Leica Summicron F1.8 lens, the same optical partner as the Luna Ultra, and offers up to 14 stops of dynamic range.

It supports up to 4x zoom, with the first 2x being lossless, and an onboard AI model helps maintain image quality beyond that.
For color, the Luna Pro provides three Leica presets — Chrome, Natural, and Vivid — along with six cinematic filters.
Users can share their color settings via a QR code instead of manual copying.
Portrait features include real-time detection of facial contours and skin texture, allowing for adjustable beauty intensity, smoothing, and brightening.
A built-in color temperature sensor automatically adjusts white balance to keep skin tones consistent in different lighting conditions.

Insta360 also added a multi-skin-tone AI algorithm to avoid the washed-out look that can result from applying the same whitening effect to different skin tones.
Like the Luna Ultra, the Luna Pro has a detachable touchscreen remote that works as a wireless controller.
It supports image transmission from up to 20 meters away and provides full camera control, while a built-in wireless microphone can record audio from a distance.
An optional head-tracking accessory can track the user's head movements and move the gimbal accordingly, similar to the POV Head Tracker for the Luna Ultra.
The Luna Pro has a 1,550mAh battery, rated for up to four hours of shooting.
Fast charging brings it to 80% in 23 minutes, and it includes 47GB of built-in storage.

The Insta360 Luna Pro is priced at 3,399 yuan (approximately $505).
