Macklemore has been removed from the remaining dates of Ed Sheeran's tour following backlash over his pro-Palestine remarks on stage.
Rolling Stone reported that several venues told the tour they would not allow him to perform, and the shows will continue without him.
Onstage Remarks Spark Backlash
During Ed Sheeran's MetLife Stadium stop earlier this month, Macklemore told the crowd "Free Palestine" before performing his protest song "Hind's Hall."
The comments drew criticism, and the Israeli-American Council launched a petition demanding that Macklemore be removed from the tour.
Macklemore later defended his comments, saying his criticism of Israel was not aimed at Jewish people and that his message was about peace and equal treatment.
Pink was also pulled into the controversy after reposting criticism of Macklemore, though she later clarified she was not personally calling for him to be fired.
Venue Objections and Tour Future
It is unclear which venues raised issues with Macklemore, but at least two are privately owned: Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte and Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
Those stadiums are owned by NFL owners David Tepper and Robert Kraft.
According to Rolling Stone, Macklemore is officially out, and the tour will go on without him.
