The EarFun Clip 2 ear-clips deliver a combination of comfort, connectivity, and surprising extras like real-time AI translation and wireless charging, typically reserved for flagship models.

Design and comfort

The case is made of basic black plastic that feels durable and has survived several drops without damage.

The ear-clips themselves carry an IPX 55 dust and water resistance rating.

A standout feature is the flexible Ni-Ti connecting frame coated in ultra-soft silicone.

This design reduces clamping pressure compared to other ear-clips, offering better comfort while maintaining a secure fit.

A single mechanical button is easier and more reliable than haptic controls found on more expensive models.

Connectivity

The Clip 2 uses Bluetooth 6.0, which theoretically provides lower latency and a stable connection over longer distances.

I maintained a strong connection even after moving downstairs into my garage, where other ear-clips with Bluetooth 5 start to break up.

Advertised range is 15 meters without obstacles, and I consistently achieved an impressive 10 meters through floors and walls.

Dual device connectivity worked seamlessly between my iPhone and iPad.

Android users benefit from Google Fast Pair for one-touch connectivity.

Latency was very low in normal mode, fine for videos, and a low latency mode is available for picky gamers.

Sound

The Clip 2 features 3D Surround Sound and BassSurge™ technology with a 12mm dual-magnetic titanium composite driver and redesigned elliptical sound port.

It supports Hi-res audio and codecs including SBC, AAC, and LDAC.

The default sound signature is vocal-forward with subdued bass.

The bass boost preset in the EarFun app makes the signature neutral, providing clear and precise bass for a satisfying experience.

The soundstage is standout, offering good depth. Like other ear-clips, bass drops off around 80Hz due to the open design.

Overall clarity, soundstage, and technical performance are very good at this price point, though a bit more bass would be welcome.

The EarFun app is easy to use and stable, with automatic detection and pairing. It offers various sound modes and a 10-band equalizer for custom tuning.
