Xiaomi has officially introduced the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G in Japan, marking the first Pro Max model in the Redmi Note series and the company's first smartphone with a 10,000mAh battery.
The battery uses silicon-carbon technology and is claimed to last up to three days on normal use.

It supports 100W wired charging, which can provide a full day's charge in just 20 minutes.
Xiaomi also states the battery retains over 80% capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, roughly six years of use.
The phone can reverse charge other devices at up to 27W.
Durable Build and Display
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max features the 'Redmi Titan Structure' with IP66 and IP68 ratings, and has passed a 72-hour underwater test at 2 meters, verified by TÜV SÜD.
It includes a dedicated water mode for underwater photography.

The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and is certified by SGS to survive drops from up to 3 meters.
The 6.83-inch screen offers 1.5K resolution, 3,500 nits peak brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, and 3,200Hz touch sampling rate.
It also has TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue light and flicker-free modes.
Performance and Cameras
Under the hood, the phone runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chip, with up to 16GB of RAM via memory expansion.
It runs HyperOS 3 with AI features like offline translation and real-time speech transcription.
Xiaomi promises six years of security updates and four OS upgrades.

The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide lens, while the front camera is 32MP.
Colors and Pricing
The phone comes in black, purple, and Cloud Blush, with the latter featuring photochromic technology that changes color in sunlight.
Dimensions vary slightly, with the Cloud Blush version being thinner at 8.57mm, and all models weigh about 229.5g.
Pricing starts at 79,980 yen (about $502) for the 8GB/256GB model and 99,980 yen (about $628) for the 8GB/512GB model.
Early bird discounts of 10,000 yen are available until October 14th, bringing prices down to about $439 and $565.
