Release Date
Xiaomi has officially confirmed that HyperOS 4 will be unveiled in July or August, likely referring to the China launch.
The global announcement may follow a few weeks later.
As with previous versions, a beta program will precede the stable rollout.
Leakster Digital Chat Station revealed the first batch of beta devices in China: Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi 17 Max, Redmi K90, Redmi K90 Pro Max, and Redmi K90 Pro Max Champion Edition.
Last year, HyperOS 3 launched in China in August and globally in September.
If Xiaomi follows the same timeline, the global rollout of HyperOS 4 could begin in October 2026.

What to Expect
Leaks suggest Xiaomi is focusing on a "Zero-Legacy" framework built on Android 17. This involves purging old legacy code and SDKs to reduce system bloat.
Core system applications and frameworks are reportedly being rewritten using Rust and Flutter to improve memory safety, background optimization, and cross-device UI consistency.
This should result in lower RAM usage, faster boot times, and reduced animation stutters.
HyperOS 4 is expected to integrate a liquid-glass design more deeply, featuring fluid aesthetics, glossy overlays, frosted-glass transparency, and advanced bounce animations.
A leak also suggests a possible extension of the Leica partnership to introduce Leica-inspired color palettes.
Privacy features may include a software-based privacy screen that narrows the viewing angle, similar to Samsung's Galaxy S26 Privacy Display but achieved via software rather than hardware.
Additionally, HyperOS 4 is expected to offer smarter cross-device multitasking, highly optimized background task management, and deeper contextual AI productivity features for daily workflows.
