Dangbei has expanded its home theater lineup in China with the X9 Ultra, a 4K laser projector that emphasizes high brightness, optical flexibility, and gaming performance.
It arrives alongside the X9 Max and is now available on JD. com for 7,999 yuan, roughly $1,192.
Brightness and Optical Design
The X9 Ultra uses a 0.47-inch DMD chip paired with the new QuaLas 42 pure RGB triple-laser light source.
Dangbei rates the output at 5,600 CVIA lumens, which translates to about 6,100 ISO lumens.
To handle the added heat, the projector features an updated thermal management system with larger cooling fins and optimized airflow.
The company says operating noise stays at or below 28dB.
For placement flexibility, it offers four-way optical lens shift, moving the image up to ±135% vertically and ±50% horizontally without digital keystone correction.
A 1.2-1.5:1 optical zoom lets users adjust screen size without moving the projector, while low-dispersion glass elements help reduce color fringing and glare.
Image Quality and Gaming Features
The X9 Ultra supports Dolby Vision and claims a dynamic contrast ratio of 80,000:1.
It covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and comes factory-calibrated with a Delta E of around 0.7.
Dangbei has also included a software algorithm to reduce the rainbow effect sometimes visible on DLP projectors.
Internally, the projector runs on a MediaTek MT9681 processor with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
It supports Wi-Fi 6 and gaming-oriented features such as Variable Refresh Rate, Auto Low Latency Mode, and a claimed 1ms input lag.
There is also a 21:9 ultrawide display mode for PC gaming.
The projector runs Dangbei AI OS 6.0 and supports Xiaomi’s smart home ecosystem through the Mijia app.
Its built-in media player supports NFS, SMB, and FTP protocols for streaming content directly from a NAS.
Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, one with eARC, two USB ports, and an optical audio output.
It also features dual 12W full-range speakers with Dolby Audio and DTS support.
