Xiaomi is preparing to launch its Xiaomi 18 Pro series later this month, following the debut of the Xiaomi 18 Fold on September 7.
The Pro and Pro Max models are expected to be introduced around Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit, which runs from September 22 to 24.
Unlike the Fold, which uses Xiaomi's in-house Xring O3 chip, the new Pro models will rely on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 platform.
Xiaomi 18 Pro: AI-Powered Rear Display and Dual 200MP Cameras
Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series will feature a rear display capable of generating its own apps with AI assistance.
These are not full apps but simple tools for daily tasks, such as an egg-cooking timer, a water-drinking reminder, and a Pomodoro timer.
Leaks suggest the rear screen could measure around 4 inches, a significant increase from the 2.7-inch panel on the Xiaomi 17 Pro.
A privacy mode, similar to Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra feature, is also expected.
The main display is said to remain compact and flat with a 1.5K resolution.
The phone may also include a physical AI button for quick access to AI features, customizable to work with Xiaomi's smart home and EV ecosystem.
Camera upgrades are anticipated, with the Xiaomi 18 Pro reportedly using two 200MP sensors for the main and telephoto cameras, up from a single 200MP lens on last year's model.
It will still have a triple-camera setup with Leica tuning.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Max: Larger Screen, Bigger Battery, and Advanced Cameras
The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is expected to be the largest phone in the lineup, featuring the same rear display and AI features as the Pro.
Its front screen could be 6.9 inches and use a flat panel.
According to a recent leak, the Pro Max could sport a 200MP SmartSens main camera alongside a 200MP telephoto camera with LOFIC support for improved dynamic range.
A 50MP ultra-wide camera is also mentioned.
If true, this would be the first time SmartSens provides a 200MP sensor for a Xiaomi flagship.
