A Florida mother allegedly admitted to investigators that she had a years-long sexual relationship with her son, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Grady Judd discussed the case of Christina Clemens and her son Shane in a social media briefing.
The case surfaced after Christina called deputies and accused Shane of assaulting her, Judd said.
Deputies arrested Shane, who then told them about the sexual encounters with his mother, according to the sheriff.
When deputies asked Christina whether the incest claim was true, she said yes, Judd said.
She added that it had happened 'only about 100 times,' according to the sheriff's account.
Charges and Family Details
Christina is married, and her husband told deputies they were happy, Judd said.
The husband also said he grew suspicious when mother and son would enter the main bedroom together and lock the door, according to the sheriff.
Judd implied that Christina's husband is not Shane's father, though that was not stated explicitly.
According to the New York Post, Christina faces charges of incest, living in open adultery, and domestic battery.
Shane also faces charges of incest and domestic battery.
Judd summed up the case bluntly: 'What else can you say? That's nasty.'
