Citizen has introduced the AQ4100-65X in the United States, a new addition to its premium The Citizen collection.
The watch is priced at $2,995 and is now available through Citizen’s US website.
The AQ4100-65X combines a high-accuracy quartz movement with Citizen’s specialized case materials. It is produced in a limited run of 350 unnumbered pieces globally.
Design and Materials
The watch features a 38.3mm case made from Citizen’s Super Titanium.
The metal is treated with a Duratect Platinum coating, which gives it a silver-tone finish similar to stainless steel while keeping the weight low.
It has a 22mm lug width and comes with a matching titanium bracelet that uses a standard fold-over clasp with push buttons.
For the dial, Citizen used Tosa Tengujoshi paper dyed in a deep red shade.
This traditional Japanese washi paper is extremely thin and translucent, allowing ambient light to pass through to the solar cells underneath.
The paper also gives the dial a textured, matte finish. Citizen has added its eagle mark logo, identifying the watch as part of this specific collection.
Movement and Features
Inside, the AQ4100-65X runs on the Caliber A060 Eco-Drive movement. This solar-powered quartz mechanism charges via natural or artificial light and does not require standard battery replacements.
The movement is rated for an accuracy of ±5 seconds per year.
It also includes a perpetual calendar, so the date function automatically accounts for different month lengths and leap years.
The watch is fitted with a spherical sapphire crystal that sits slightly raised above the bezel.
It has a water resistance rating of 100 meters, which is sufficient for swimming and showering.
