Courtney Clenney is seeking to introduce text messages she allegedly sent to her late boyfriend Christian Obumseli after incidents of abuse, arguing the messages support her self-defense claim in his murder.

The OnlyFans model faces a murder charge for fatally stabbing Obumseli in their Miami high-rise apartment in 2022.

She has maintained she acted in self-defense after enduring repeated abuse.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Clenney's attorneys want jurors to see a string of texts they say back up her account of the relationship.

Text Messages Allegedly Show Pattern of Abuse

One exchange cited in the filing occurred in April 2021 after Clenney claimed Obumseli punched her in the face.

Her attorneys say she texted him accusing him of hitting her "in my face as hard as you could."

Obumseli allegedly responded that he was only trying to move her hand and "really didn't mean to."

Clenney argues the messages show a pattern of him minimizing what happened.

Another exchange from August 2021 allegedly shows Clenney texting Obumseli that he was "punching me in the back" and "attacking me" after a confrontation.

Her lawyers say the texts were sent immediately afterward.

The filing also details an alleged incident in Dubai in 2021.

Clenney said Obumseli wanted to smoke marijuana, but she did not want him to due to strict laws.

She claims he got upset, shoved her forcefully, and fractured her ribs.

In January 2022, she says he grabbed her arm and caused injury.

Broader Evidence Strategy

The text messages are just one piece of evidence Clenney's attorneys want jurors to consider.

They also plan to introduce medical records, photos, eyewitness testimony, and police and security reports documenting an escalating pattern of physical and psychological abuse.

As TMZ previously reported, Clenney's team recently claimed in court filings that Obumseli had been wanted on an animal cruelty charge before his death.
