Kenny "The Jet" Smith believes the Los Angeles Lakers are no longer title contenders after losing LeBron James.

The NBA champion and "Inside the NBA" analyst shared his thoughts with TMZ Sports at LAX this week.

Lakers' Offseason Moves Not Enough

The Lakers added Walker Kessler, Collin Sexton, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Quentin Grimes, and re-signed Austin Reaves this offseason.

Smith said Luka Dončić and the team will make the playoffs but won't compete for a championship.

"This is a competitive team, but not a championship team yet," Smith said. "LeBron James makes them a championship team."

When asked about a possible LeBron return, Smith said the Lakers would be legitimate contenders with him on the current roster.
