Drew Brees knows a thing or two about bouncing back from a torn ACL.
He did it as a high schooler, and now the NFL legend says Patrick Mahomes will not only bounce back but be better than ever.

The newly minted Hall of Famer shared his thoughts with Babcock this week, discussing Mahomes' injury recovery. His words should be music to Chiefs fans' ears.
“I think there’s no doubt that physiologically Patrick Mahomes is fine,” Brees said.
“There’s certainly that mental hurdle to get over, just to say, 'Hey, I can step into that, right?'
Like, 'I can take that hit.'

Can I get past that psychological barrier of being able to turn it loose and not think about it at all?”
For Mahomes, Brees has little doubt. “I'm confident that the best of Patrick Mahomes is still ahead of us.”
Brees isn't just speculating. He suffered the same injury three decades ago as a high school junior.

His 13 Pro Bowls, a Super Bowl, and endless accolades prove he bounced back, not to mention the medical advances since then.
The 30-year-old three-time Super Bowl champion tore the ligament in mid-December against the Chargers, just over 250 days ago.
While the Chiefs haven't confirmed, Mahomes is expected to be back for Week 1, a Monday Night Football clash with the Broncos.
Kansas City only won six games last season, and this could be the last hurrah with Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and head coach Andy Reid together.
