Courtney Clenney has been transferred from the Miami-Dade jail to state custody, marking a new phase in her incarceration.
The Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation Department confirmed she left its facility around 1 AM Wednesday.

She is now under the authority of Florida's Department of Corrections, moving from county jail to the state prison system.
Clenney pleaded guilty to manslaughter earlier this month in the 2022 stabbing death of her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli.

She received a six-year prison sentence, with credit for four years already served, potentially allowing release in less than two years.

Her father, Kim Clenney, expressed relief after the sentencing, hoping his daughter can rebuild her life.
During her final days in county jail, Clenney faced safety concerns, including being shoved and threatened by other inmates, according to her attorney Frank Prieto.
