The 46-year-old was taken into custody Thursday night by officers in Daphne, Alabama, and booked into the Baldwin County jail.

This is not Gillum's first encounter with law enforcement involving drugs. In 2020, he was found disoriented in a hotel room in Miami Beach.
Paramedics responded after a man with Gillum was feared to have overdosed.
Bodycam footage later showed prescription pill bottles and three small bags of methamphetamine in the room.

However, prosecutors declined to file charges due to insufficient evidence linking the drugs directly to Gillum or the other man.
Gillum rose to national prominence in 2018 when he won the Democratic primary for Florida governor and narrowly lost to Republican Ron DeSantis by about 34,000 votes.
