Apple has not yet launched its first foldable iPhone, but details about its successor are already emerging.
Tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) shared new information about the iPhone Ultra 2 and the uncertain future of the iPhone Air 3.

iPhone Ultra 2 in Development
The original iPhone Ultra is expected to debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup later in 2026.
However, according to DCS, Apple has internally confirmed the iPhone Ultra 2, which will feature a wider folding screen than the first generation.
The Ultra 2 is likely to reuse the same display technology as the original.

The first iPhone Ultra is rumored to have a 7.8-inch inner display, a 5.5-inch cover screen, a titanium build, and the A20 Pro chip.
It is also said to be just 4.5mm thin when unfolded, potentially making it the thinnest foldable on the market.
iPhone Air 3 Faces Uncertainty
The outlook for the iPhone Air line is less promising.
DCS reports that the iPhone Air 3 has not yet entered the molding stage, and its future depends entirely on the commercial performance of the iPhone Air 2.

The original iPhone Air struggled, with fewer than 700,000 unit activations despite multiple price cuts.
Supplier capacity was reportedly reduced by over 80% after launch, and the phone is believed to be out of production.
Apple is still moving forward with the iPhone Air 2, targeting a Q1 2027 release with upgrades like a second rear camera and a larger display.

However, if sales do not improve, the ultra-thin iPhone line could be discontinued.
