Apple's upcoming foldable iPhone, expected to be called the iPhone Ultra, may feature dual batteries. Evidence has been found in the latest iOS 27 developer beta.
In the Battery Health section of Settings, Apple has added new text that uses the plural form “batteries.”

This is a significant change from the singular “battery” used on all current iPhones.
Phrases like “The batteries in this iPhone are performing as expected” and “The health of the batteries in this iPhone has significantly degraded” appear.
There is also a warning about “one of the batteries” not being a genuine Apple part.
This wording strongly suggests software support for a phone with two separate battery cells.

Such a setup is common in foldable devices to accommodate the hinge and balance weight.
Battery and Other Rumored Specs
According to supply chain leaks from Digital Chat Station, the iPhone Ultra could include two cells: one at 1,921 mAh and another at 2,962 mAh.
The combined capacity would be 4,883 mAh.
That figure is lower than earlier rumors of 5,400-5,800 mAh, but it would still surpass Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 (Wide), which has a 4,800 mAh battery.
On the display front, rumors point to a 7.76-inch inner screen and a 5.49-inch cover display.

For cameras, a 48 MP main sensor and a 48 MP ultra-wide are expected, though a telephoto lens may be absent due to space constraints.
Earlier iOS 27 code also mentioned fold states, multiple displays, and multitasking features tailored for a larger foldable screen.
Apple has reportedly moved forward with mass production elements after resolving hinge issues.
The iPhone Ultra is rumored to be priced between $2,000 and $2,500.
