Tedde Moore, the actress who played Miss Shields in the 1983 film "A Christmas Story," has died. She was 79.
According to a Facebook post under her name, Moore passed away last Wednesday in Huntsville, Ontario, Canada. Her cause of death was not released.

Moore began her acting career starring alongside Christopher Walken in the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in Stratford, Ontario.

She later landed her most notable role as Miss Shields, the strict teacher of 9-year-old Ralphie Parker, played by Peter Billingsley, in the beloved holiday classic.

Her other film credits include "Second Wind," "Murder by Decree," "Overnight," and "Down the Road Again."
