Redmi has launched the Turbo 5 in India, nearly five months after its debut in China. It marks the first Turbo series phone available in the Indian market.
However, Chinese buyers still get a better deal.

The 12GB+256GB variant costs Rs 38,999 in India, while the same configuration in China is priced at 2,299 yuan — roughly Rs 32,200.
That's a difference of about Rs 6,800.
Even the entry-level 8GB+256GB model at Rs 35,999 is more expensive than China's higher-RAM base model after currency conversion.
The price premium is not unusual for Chinese-origin phones sold in India, where import duties, GST, and logistics costs push prices higher.
Redmi is offering up to Rs 2,000 in instant discounts on select SBI, ICICI, and Axis Bank cards.
