Chris Bosh is opening up about a terrifying medical emergency he faced in January, revealing he suffered another pulmonary embolism and nearly lost his life.
In an interview with Hoops Hype, the Hall of Famer described the severity of the incident.

"I almost dropped dead pretty much and came back to life. I'm not joking," Bosh said.
He explained that he passed out in his bathroom and was hospitalized for a week.
The former NBA star admitted he learned a hard lesson about continuing to take his medication and caring for his body, even when he feels fine.
Bosh had battled blood clots late in his career, which ultimately forced him to retire.

He now acknowledges it's something he'll deal with for the rest of his life, despite thinking he was "past it."
Previously, Bosh shared that he was getting ready for a date night when he felt a numbing sensation in his leg.
He woke up in a pool of blood, and his wife had called 911.

In February, he wrote about the experience, saying, "After coming back from the darkness, there was no euphoric clarity.
No life montage flashing before my eyes. No voice in my ear telling me it’ll be ok and what to do next.
Just the gratitude for still being alive, and a newfound, sobering awareness of how everything actually is."
He added, "What did change was an immediate outlook on life that was simpler and more honest."

Bosh was the fourth pick in the 2003 NBA Draft and played for the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat, where his No. 1 jersey is retired.
