The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has confirmed two deaths in the ongoing cyclosporiasis outbreak.
In an update on Monday, the agency reported that the infectious disease has now claimed two lives since spreading across the state.
The victims were not identified, but officials noted their medical records showed "significant underlying health conditions that may have been impacted by cyclosporiasis and dehydration."
MDHHS stated they will not release further details about these cases.
This is a developing story.
