Google is expected to roll out Android 17 this week, one of the most significant Android updates to date.
It introduces deeper Gemini Intelligence integration, multitasking improvements, granular privacy controls, and a refreshed interface.

However, several Pixel devices will not be eligible for this upgrade. According to Google's update policy, only Pixel 6 and newer models will receive Android 17.

Android 17 is not just a routine refresh; it focuses heavily on Gemini Intelligence.
Gemini moves from a standalone app to a proactive system assistant. It can automate tasks across applications, create assets on the fly, and manage deep user workflows.
Users can generate widgets like custom tracking goals or countdown timers with Gemini AI.

Android 17 also introduces a native app lock feature.
For privacy, it offers limited contact sharing, granting apps one-time or temporary access to chosen contacts instead of the entire phonebook.
Additionally, users get separate toggles for Wi-Fi and mobile data.
