Casio has expanded its G-LIDE G-Shock lineup in the United States with the GBX-H5600KI-5, a fitness-focused watch designed with professional surfer Kanoa Igarashi.
Priced at $370, the watch is available now through the Casio US website, following its initial release in Japan last month.

Design and build
The watch features a brown, mixed-color bio-based resin bezel and band, inspired by the coastal cliffs of Portugal.
Each unit has a unique pattern due to the manufacturing process, and the display uses a Memory in Pixel (MIP) LCD for visibility in direct sunlight and underwater.
Weighing just 47 grams, it is about 18 grams lighter than the previous heart-rate model, thanks to a carbon fiber-reinforced resin case back.

Health and surf features
The GBX-H5600KI-5 includes an optical sensor for heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring, along with a three-axis accelerometer for tracking steps, distance, and speed.
Casio uses Polar's algorithms to process this data, offering metrics on cardio load, energy sources, and sleep recovery stages.
For surfers, the watch provides tide graphs and moon phase data, with storage for 50 preset locations or access to roughly 3,300 global tide points via the Casio Watches app.

Bluetooth connectivity enables automatic time syncing, activity log transfers, and notifications for calls, emails, and social media.
Battery and availability
Battery life varies with usage, relying on a hybrid system of USB and solar charging.
With continuous heart rate monitoring during activities, it lasts about 35 hours; in standard watch mode, it runs for about a month, and a power-saving mode extends that to 11 months.
