Acer has entered the smart eyewear market with two new devices that take very different approaches to augmented reality.

Unlike the Meta Ray-Bans, these glasses target distinct use cases.

The first model is the Acer AR Vision GR0, a pair of AR glasses built around high-quality displays.

The second is the GI0, a lighter, wireless pair that relies on Google Gemini AI and a built-in camera.

AR Vision GR0: Focus on display quality

The AR Vision GR0 features dual Micro OLED displays, each with a resolution of 1920×1080 and a 60Hz refresh rate.

Acer says the combined effect is equivalent to watching a 172-inch screen from about six meters away.

The color coverage reaches 95% of the DCI-P3 gamut, and the contrast ratio is 50,000:1.

Like many AR glasses, the GR0 lacks its own processor and must be plugged into a phone, laptop, or PC to function.

This wired design helps keep the weight down to just 69 grams.

The device works with Android, iOS, and Windows, includes near-ear speakers, 3DoF head tracking, and supports magnetic prescription lenses.

GI0: Lightweight and wireless with AI

At 46 grams, the GI0 is lighter and completely wireless.

It connects to a phone over Wi-Fi 5 or Bluetooth 5.0 and runs Google Gemini as its core AI feature, enabling hands-free voice queries, real-time translation, and AI-generated captions.

The GI0 also includes a 12MP camera that can shoot 4032×3024 stills and record 1080p video at 30fps.

It has three microphones, 32GB of internal storage, and a companion app called Acer AspireSync for setup. The battery is 217mAh, so all-day use is not expected.

Pricing and availability

Both devices will launch in North America, Europe, and Australia in late 2026.

The AR Vision GR0 starts at $499.99 in the US (€599 in Europe, AUD 999 in Australia), with most markets seeing it in Q4 2026.
