Bonnie Tyler, the legendary Welsh singer and three-time Grammy nominee, has died at age 74.
Her manager Matt Davis confirmed the news to TMZ, stating that Tyler passed away unexpectedly Wednesday night in a hospital in Portugal.

Davis said her family and team "are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away" as a result of the illness she was being treated for.
Tyler's death follows a period of hospitalization in Portugal, where she underwent emergency surgery and was placed in a medically induced coma to aid her recovery.

Born Gaynor Hopkins, Tyler rose to fame in 1977 with her album "The World Starts Tonight."
Her breakthrough single "It's a Heartache" reached number four on the UK charts.
She went on to release iconic hits such as "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Holding Out for a Hero" in the 1980s, earning her first Grammy nomination for the former in 1984.

Other well-known songs from her catalog include "If You Were a Woman," "Straight From the Heart," "More Than a Lover," and "Making Love."
Tyler released her last studio album, "The Best Is Yet to Come," in 2021. She had a series of tour dates scheduled for this year.
