Casio is expanding its Baby-G lineup with two new models that embrace a modular design and Y2K-inspired look.
The BGD-10KG-2JR and BGD-10KG-4JR are set to launch in Japan this July, priced at ¥11,550 (approximately $72).

Modular design and Y2K aesthetics
The watches feature translucent resin bands and glitter-infused dials, tapping into the ongoing Y2K hardware trend.
Their key innovation is a detachable digital module that can be removed from the standard wristband.
Once removed, the module fits into an included silicone holder with its own strap.
This allows the watch to be used as a standalone time-telling charm, clipped to a backpack, belt loop, or lanyard.

Casio notes that users can customize the silicone holder with decorations, but advises against using metallic straps that could damage the mounting holes.
Specifications and durability
Beyond the modular case, the BGD-10KG maintains the durability expected from the Baby-G line.
It features a shock-resistant resin build and water resistance up to 100 meters, suitable for swimming or daily wear.
The watch is compact at 42.8 x 39 x 14.7 millimeters and weighs just 33 grams.

Power comes from a CR1616 coin-cell battery, estimated to last about three years.
Features include world time covering 29 time zones and 30 cities, a stopwatch, a 24-hour countdown timer, and five daily alarms.
It also includes a white LED backlight that stays on for two seconds and a full auto-calendar.
