Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra could finally bring a significant upgrade to the front camera, according to a report from GalaxyClub.
The new models are rumored to feature a 16MP square-shaped sensor, replacing the 12MP sensor used since the Galaxy S23 series.

The square format is similar to the one Apple introduced with the iPhone 17 for its Center Stage feature.
That technology uses the sensor's shape and software to automatically adjust framing, keeping subjects centered during selfies or video calls without needing to rotate the phone.
Beyond megapixels, the new sensor could improve sharpness, low-light performance, and enable landscape selfies more easily.

The base Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus might retain the existing 12MP front camera, following Samsung's tiered strategy.
However, the higher-end models would gain a more practical camera experience.
This feature would address a common annoyance: having to rotate the phone for group selfies or video meetings.
