This shift toward wide foldables follows the Galaxy Z Fold8, which replaced its tall 21:9-style body with a shorter 4:3 inner screen.
The Fold8 reportedly accounted for 70% of pre-orders within the Galaxy Z8 series, with the lineup achieving 1.44 million pre-orders in South Korea—a 39% jump year-over-year.
