Samsung has begun rolling out its August 2026 security update to Galaxy devices, and this month, a smartwatch is the first to receive it.
After the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, the update has expanded to the Galaxy Fold 8 series and a few other models.

According to the official security bulletin, the August 2026 patch fixes over 58 security vulnerabilities from Google and Samsung.
Of these, 38 come from Google, including 8 critical-level and 30 high-level fixes, while the remaining 18 are specific to Samsung devices.
Keeping the security patch level up to date is crucial to protect your device from the latest vulnerabilities.

Here are the Galaxy devices that have received the August 2026 security update so far:
Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and Galaxy XCover 7.

The rollout has been slower than usual, with Samsung typically pushing monthly updates at a faster pace.
If your device is on the list, you can check for the update by going to Settings > Software updates and tapping Download and install.
Note that the update rolls out in batches, so it may take a few days to reach all users.
