A man believed to be Andrew Truelove, who stormed the 'TODAY' show set on Thursday, appears to have been captured on live television just moments before the breach.
In a segment aired around 8:45 a. m.
, a person matching Truelove's description can be seen pacing outside the Rockefeller Center studio as Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin report on a 14-foot great white shark heading toward Cape Cod.
The individual, who appears to be smoking, shares the same hairstyle, mustache, and clothing as the man later seen handcuffed by police, TMZ reports, though the outlet notes it has not independently confirmed the identity.
Approximately 15 minutes after that broadcast, Truelove allegedly slipped past security and entered the studio.
Law enforcement sources say he initially sought Al Roker but redirected his anger at Melvin, using racial slurs.
Truelove was quickly removed and arrested by the NYPD on charges including hate crime burglary, menacing, criminal trespass, and harassment.
The 41-year-old suspect has a criminal history in New York, including a prior felony conviction related to trespassing, according to sources.
Melvin returned to the show Friday morning, stating he and his colleagues were 'safe and sound.' Both he and Roker were granted protective orders against Truelove.
The security guard who failed to prevent the intrusion has reportedly been fired.
