Release Timeline
Samsung will unveil One UI 9.0 at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, 2026.
The update will debut with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, which will launch at the same event.
The stable rollout for older Galaxy devices is likely to start in September 2026.
Recent models such as the Galaxy S26, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are expected to be among the first to receive it.
The One UI 9.0 beta program began in early May 2026 and is currently limited to the Galaxy S26 series.
It is expected to expand to more devices before the stable release.

New Features and Upgrades
One UI 9.0 introduces several visual tweaks and new features.
The sliders for display brightness and volume are thicker and now fill their pill shapes for better touch accuracy.
Media player widgets on the lock screen and quick panel can be resized and show energetic waveform animations that match album art.
Some media controls appear as circular buttons instead of being grouped in a rounded rectangular container.
More liquid glass UI effects are expected across the interface. The update also includes new Galaxy AI features and refinements to existing ones.
Creative Studio is built directly into the stock app, allowing users to create personalized profile cards without opening a separate app.
The Home Up module in Good Lock now supports multi-finger gestures for custom actions like adjusting volume or triggering pop-up windows.
A new “Ask AI” feature in Samsung Browser provides direct answers from webpages.

One UI 9.0 also bundles many Android 17 features, including bubble support for all apps, a system-level contacts picker, and improved app adaptability across different screen sizes.
