Hisense has officially launched its A10 e-ink smartphone series, ending months of teasers.
The lineup includes the A10 Pro and A10 Ultra, with prices starting at 2,799 yuan.

The A10 Pro comes in three configurations: 8GB+128GB at 2,799 yuan (~$416), 8GB+256GB at 2,999 yuan (~$446), and 12GB+512GB at 3,499 yuan (~$521).
The A10 Ultra is priced at 3,198 yuan (~$476) for 8GB+128GB, 3,398 yuan (~$506) for 8GB+256GB, and 3,898 yuan (~$580) for 12GB+512GB.
Both models are available in Moon White and Bamboo Green, weighing 190 grams.
Paper-like e-ink display
Both phones feature a 6.13-inch Carta 1300 e-ink display with a resolution of 1648 x 824 pixels and a pixel density of 300 PPI.
The screen supports 256 levels of grayscale and 36 levels of dual-color front lighting.
Unlike traditional phone displays, the e-ink panel relies on reflected ambient light to produce an image.
It has no blue light and does not flicker, making it suitable for reading e-books, annotating PDFs, and studying.

The display is paired with an E Ink T2000 hardware TCON chip, which handles screen refresh independently, reduces ghosting, and offloads work from the main processor.
Detachable color screen
The standout feature of the A10 series is the optional magnetic color screen.
This 4.96-inch LCD panel attaches to the back of the phone via a magnetic ring and metal contacts, and can be attached or removed as needed.
With the color screen attached, the A10 can be used like a regular smartphone for browsing color comics, viewing charts and images, watching short videos, and using social media apps.
When not needed, it can be detached easily.
The A10 Ultra includes the magnetic color screen in the box, while the A10 Pro has the magnetic contacts built-in but does not include the secondary screen.

Users can purchase the accessory separately.
Snapdragon chip with 5G
The A10 series is powered by Qualcomm's QCM6690 octa-core processor, built on a 4nm process.
The chip supports 5G connectivity and is optimized for e-ink devices, automatically reducing frequency and power consumption during static reading.
For demanding tasks, it can increase performance to keep the interface responsive.
The phones pack 4,000mAh batteries with support for 18W wired charging and 15W wireless charging; the Ultra also supports magnetic wireless charging.
The A10 series runs Android 16 out of the box and supports long-term system updates and security patches.
Unlike some e-ink phones, it allows users to install Android apps normally.

Other features include a 48MP main rear camera, an 8MP front camera, NFC, an infrared remote control, Wi-Fi 6, call recording, and app cloning.
