A firmware build believed to belong to the device has appeared on Samsung's internal OTA servers for the first time.

The build numbers, including S741NKSU0AZE5 and regional variants, indicate that active internal testing has started. For Samsung devices, early firmware sightings often signal progress toward a release.
The Galaxy S26 FE is expected to succeed the Galaxy S25 FE, which launched late last year as a more affordable flagship option.
The FE lineup has gained a loyal following by offering core Galaxy S features without the Ultra-level price tag.
Earlier leaks suggested the phone could use the Exynos 2500 chip, a 3nm processor reportedly powering some foldables and regional Galaxy variants.

Geekbench listings from last month also pointed toward Android 17 and 8GB of RAM.
At this stage, most hardware details remain unclear. Samsung typically launches FE phones around September or October, aligning with the current timeline.

The software will likely ship with One UI 9 based on Android 17, which could bring AI and ecosystem improvements by launch time.
Pricing will be a key factor this year.
The Fan Edition lineup exists to offer flagship-level displays, cameras, and software support without the full Ultra price.
Maintaining that balance becomes harder as chipset and memory costs rise.
