Samsung appears to be developing its next mid-range and rugged smartphones, as traces of the Galaxy A58 and Galaxy Xcover FR have surfaced in the GSMA IMEI database.
According to a report from SamMobile, the Galaxy A58 is listed with model number SM-A5860, while the Galaxy Xcover FR appears as SM-G778B.

The Galaxy A58 is expected to follow the Galaxy A57, which launched on March 25, 2026.
Samsung typically releases new A5x-series phones in the first quarter, so the A58 might arrive in early 2027.
Successive models in this series usually bring small upgrades in chipset, battery life, and cameras.

The Galaxy Xcover FR belongs to Samsung's rugged Xcover line, designed for industrial environments and tough conditions.

What to Expect from the Predecessors
The current Galaxy A57 features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ display with 120Hz refresh rate, the Exynos 1680 chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, a 50MP main camera with OIS, and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging.
On the rugged side, the previous XCover 7 Pro (from April 2025) comes with a 6.6-inch 120Hz LCD, Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, a dual 50MP + 8MP camera setup, and a 4,350mAh removable battery.
