Acer has introduced the Predator Atlas 7, a new 7-inch Windows gaming handheld, at its IFA press conference in Berlin.
The device serves as a smaller alternative to the 8-inch model Acer revealed earlier this year.
Acer also showcased a concept device called Project DualPlay Mini, which merges a handheld console with a tiny productivity laptop.
Key specifications and features
The Predator Atlas 7 packs an unusually large 80Wh battery for a 7-inch handheld, but this configuration weighs 750 grams.
Acer also offers a smaller 60Wh battery option that reduces the weight to just under 700 grams.
Under the hood, the handheld is powered by Intel's new mobile chips, with options up to an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and Intel Arc B390 graphics.
It supports up to 24GB of RAM and features a standard M. 2 2280 slot for up to 1TB of storage, making upgrades straightforward.
To manage thermals, Acer employs a dual-fan system combining a thin metal fan with a standard plastic one.
The 7-inch display is a 1080p IPS touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of brightness, and variable refresh rate (VRR) support.
For controls, it includes Hall-effect analog triggers and an option for TMR joysticks to prevent stick drift.
Connectivity options include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a UHS-II microSD slot, Wi-Fi 7, and a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button.
Project DualPlay Mini concept
Acer also presented Project DualPlay Mini, an 8-inch handheld concept with a flip-and-swivel hinge that reveals a built-in backlit keyboard.
This design allows users to switch between controller-based gaming and keyboard use for FPS titles or as a compact mobile workstation.
Since it is only a concept, no release plans have been announced, though Acer included a Morse code message on the back to mark its 50th anniversary.
Pricing and availability
The Predator Atlas 7 is scheduled to launch in North America in the fourth quarter of 2026, and in EMEA in November.
The larger 8-inch Atlas 8 is still expected to arrive this September.
Acer has not yet announced pricing for the Atlas 7.
