Mia Bieniemy, wife of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, personally called 911 after she was allegedly shot twice by her son, according to local authorities.

Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman told WJLA on Monday that Mia Bieniemy made the call around 7:30 PM on Sunday while Elijah Bieniemy remained inside the home.

When officers arrived, they found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds and the suspect still with her.

Elijah was arrested at the scene and charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in a felony, and discharge of a firearm inside a dwelling.

He is being held without bond.

Chapman did not identify the victim but noted her husband coaches for the Kansas City Chiefs, which he said is "why this is big news here."

Eric Bieniemy left Chiefs training camp in Missouri to be with Mia at the hospital. She is in stable condition.

ESPN reported she was shot in the chest and arm.

The sheriff said there had been no prior incidents at the Bieniemy residence, but the investigation is ongoing.
